biography

My project strives to create connection in shared human spaces through colour, materials, and the creation of complex, organic forms in textiles. This body of work manifested in the design of two site-specific installations for the LSAD campus and in the development of textile pieces. The objective of this work is to make space more engaging. The first installation is designed to hang at the entrance of LSAD. A large knotting piece filled with non- recyclable waste plastics sourced from primary schools around Ireland. I liked the idea of our college communicating with people driving and walking by the entrance, so that anyone could be engaged in the conversation and be a part of the discourse. The second piece is a staircase installation designed for the Textile building of LSAD. Made from meters of tubing filled with waste yarns from our department and local craftspeople, it emphasized the value and beauty of all materials.
