“A Year of Dissent” explores the incredible amount of protests that have occurred globally between 2019 and summer 2020. It aims to raise awareness about what is happening in countries where there are serious violations of human rights. It is important that the international community is alert to what is transpiring so they can speak up against it. Since the creation of this piece, events have escalated in several of these countries, making it even more important to be watchful. My animation specifically focuses on the issues occurring in Chile, where many protesters have lost their eyesight to rubber bullets.
